Arbeia

Arbeia was a Roman fort in what is today South Shields, Tyne and Wear. It has been partly reconstructed and is now a museum. When it was active it was used to store food for the forces along Hadrian's Wall, the northernmost border of the Roman Empire. It also supplied expeditions into Scotland. The Roman Emperor himself lived there for a while. See here for details: https://arbeiaromanfort.org.uk/.
