Christmas Muzak

It's just a week before Christmas and the shops are packed with seasonal goodies. Christmas carols and songs are played in many of them and this morning the BBC spoke of how this is deliberately done to increase sales! Is there anything wrong with that? What do you think?

  1. As long as we don't see it in September and October then it's expected every year. I think it does get OTT in December because when Christmas preparations start too early where can they go in December apart from to up the ante a bit. It's sad to see reduced prices before Christmas. Already minced pies are now half price.

When I was a child the post Christmas sales didn't start until New Year's Day which wasn't a bank holiday. It was still the Christmas holidays for children but not for adults as they just had two days off work and then back to work for most of them as offices and factories didn't normally close for ten days at least though you could take some leave if you wanted to. It meant that they had more holiday leave the rest of the year.
